Today we’re releasing a piece of blues history that’s been sitting in our vault for 90 years.
Mahjamba was a mysterious Delta blues singer known for performances that made other artists of her time look tame. “Grind My Coffee” was recorded in a makeshift studio somewhere in Mississippi around 1935 – and it’s exactly as explicit as you’d expect.
This is American music before anyone told women they needed to be polite.
