About Peanut Butter Palace Records
We specializes in one thing: music that was never supposed to be heard.
Since 2025, we’ve been acquiring “lost” recordings from estate sales, storage units, and the dark corners of American music history. What we’ve discovered is a pattern: the best music is often the stuff someone decided to bury.
Our catalog spans decades of suppressed, shelved, and “too controversial” recordings:
-1930s blues deemed too explicit for the “party record” circuit
-1950s doo-wop banned by nervous record executives
-1980s new wave that made families uncomfortable
-Modern indie acts too weird for mainstream platforms
These aren’t B-sides or outtakes. These are A-sides that someone, somewhere, decided the world wasn’t ready to hear. Turns out the world is still not ready. We’re releasing them anyway.
PBP Records operates on a simple philosophy: If it made someone uncomfortable enough to hide it, it’s probably worth hearing.
Operating in the United States, we distribute through all major streaming platforms and offer exclusive releases through Bandcamp. Our year-end compilations preserve these recordings for future generations who will hopefully be less uptight than the ones that buried them.
